Arizona OIC’s Learning Center is open Monday through Friday (8:00-4:00) and is closed on all holidays. Participation in any class requires the student to fill out an application at our office on 39 East Jackson Street, Phoenix, Arizona.

Official Certified Skill Training

Improve your employ-ability and with an official certification in relevant career skills such as:

  • Computer Literacy
  • Word Processor
  • Data Entry Clerk
  • Computer Operator
  • Administrative Office Clerk
  • Microsoft Office User Specialist

Times and dates for these programs vary and are scheduled upon demand. Please call or come into the office to check availability and pre-register for a class. These courses are approved by the state of Arizona to be covered by the GI Bill and the WIA. Please see for more information on Workforce Investment Act and contact the Maricopa Workforce Connection to see if you qualify for coverage.

GED Preparation

One of our most successful programs is our sponsored GED preparation course. This class meets Monday - Friday, 8:30AM – 12:00PM, and new classes begin monthly. 96% of the students who take the GED test have been successful due to this course. Full scholarships are available for dedicated students. Come into the office to fill out an application and register for this class.

Adult Basic Computer Literacy

The ABCL program offers FREE Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Computer courses. This class meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00AM – 11:00AM

Computer Basic introduces the history of computers, general literacy, hardware, and software.

Computer Intermediate deals with exterior peripherals, interior peripherals, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Publisher applications).

Computer Advanced teaches basic programming and use of the Internet and social media (Facebook, Google, Twitter, email, and LinkedIn).

English as a Second Language and Citizenship

To best serve our local Phoenix population, FREE ESL and Citizenship classes are available upon demand. Pre-registration is required for both classes to ensure adequate attendance.

For adults who are eligible to become U.S. citizens, the citizenship course includes instruction in US Civics, History, and Government in addition to providing assistance with completion and submission of their citizenship application. The Citizenship class usually meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30AM-12:00PM.

The ESL course helps adult participants increase their verbal and written fluency in the English language through the use of reading, writing, and speaking lessons. All levels of English are invited, so come with a friend! The ESL class usually meets Monday and Friday from 1:00PM - 4:00PM.

Inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) y ciudadanía

Para mejor servir a nuestra población local de Phoenix, clases de ESL y ciudadanía están disponibles gratis sobre demanda. Preinscripción es necesaria para ambas clases para garantizar la asistencia adecuada.  Para adultos que son elegibles para convertirse en ciudadanos de Estados Unidos, el curso de ciudadanía incluye instrucción en educación cívica, historia y gobierno además de proporcionar asistencia con su solicitud de ciudadanía. La clase de ciudadanía generalmente reúne el Martes y el Jueves de 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM. 

El curso de ESL ayuda a los participantes adultos aumentar su fluidez verbal y escrita en el idioma inglés a través de la lectura, escritura y habla de las lecciones. Se invitan a todos los niveles de inglés, así que traiga a un amigo! La clase de ESL suele reunirse el Lunes y el Viernes de 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
